Silverlight components are not working?
This issue usually occurs when the client machine´s Internet Explorer Web browser is not calling Microsoft CRM with the right URL that is used by the web service, too.
With the correct URL, the Silverlight component will also be correctly loaded through the CRM System connection.
To find the correct URL, please navigate in CRM to: Settings -> Customizations -> Developer Resources, and open the link for 'Organization Service'.
If the link opens correctly, please connect to CRM using only this URL (without 'XRMServices/2011/Organization.svc') in the future.
This link is the correct one for your preset CRM connection.

When clicking on a Silverlight component, license errors occur?
This Problem can have several reasons:
- Solution is not activated
- License is not assigned to the current user
- The license type is restricted and doesn’t allow the certain function.
Check activation and the assigned license types.
Online Version?
Can I use the xRM1 solutions in a hosted environment, too?
Yes, you can use it in any kind of environment. CRM online, hosting, and on-premise are all supported.
Duration of the Import
How long does the installation take? And how complicated is the installation process?
The installation is done in 3-5 Minutes depending on the performance of your system. Simply import the Solution in your System. That’s it!
Language Packs
How can I select the language packs I want to use?
Your environment’s language packs are controlled by your Microsoft CRM installation. First, you have to install all the language packs you want to use on your CRM server. Afterwards, the language packs have to be activated in Microsoft CRM via Settings – Administration - Languages. The xRM1 solutions provides all available language packs to you. When you import the xRM1 solution in Microsoft CRM, it will only import the language packs that are available in your server.
Is it possible to use only some of the available languages for xRM1?
Yes it’s possible. Language pack use is dependent on the languages that are activated in your CRM Server. While importing the solution, you will get a warning that some languages won´t be installed. This doesn`t affect the use of xRM1 in the enabled languages. If you enable further languages after importing xRM1, you have to import the solution again to enable these languages for xRM1 as well.
Import with one language?
What happens, if I import xRM1 in a CRM system with only one language?
This is possible. While importing the solution, you will get a warning that some languages won´t be installed. This doesn`t affect the use of xRM1 in the enabled language.

What I have to do with the Customizations?
Do I need to do anything to protect our own specific customizations before importing the solution?
Because of the default behavior of CRM, it is possible that some customizations maybe overwritten during the install of our solution.
To ensure that this will not happen, please back up customizations by performing the following steps:
- Create an unmanaged solution.
- Add all entity customizations to this unmanaged solution.
- Publish all customizations.
- Export the solution and save as a backup.
Do I need to uninstall the installed Solution first?
No. Under no circumstance should the solution be uninstalled, as all data will be lost. Every rollup update can easily be installed on an existing version.

Working with xRM1 Business Solutions FAQ´s
Can I use Microsoft Edge?
Microsoft Edge is not yet supported by all versions of Microsoft Dynamics CRM.
According to the following article, Microsoft Edge is only supported if you are using Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online 2015 Update 1.1
https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh699710.aspx
Additionally, the xRM1 Business Solutions are using Silverlight to deliver core functionalities, such as project management, resource allocation or fast time entry.
Therefore we recommend that you keep using Internet Explorer 11, as it still supports Silverlight.
xRM1 is working on replacing all Silverlight functions with Goldbright technology to enable all xRM1 Business Solution functions across all browsers, including Microsoft Edge.
Right now, the Goldbright based Work-Breakdown-Structure and the Goldbright inline-editing datagrids are already supporting the new Microsoft Edge browser.
In the upcoming releases of xRM1 Business Solutions you will find more and more functions added as Goldbright technology. The change from Silverlight to Goldbright should be completed by the end of 2017.
I can’t use any of the functions.
I’ve imported the solution but I can’t use any of the functions. I always get a message saying I have insufficient rights.
Please ensure that the user you’re using is activated as a user for the module and you’ve assigned the necessary security roles. For details, please consult the manual.
When I open a project, nearly all fields appear "read-only" or disabled.
There may be two reasons for this behavior. Firstly, please ensure that the user you are using is activated as a user for the solution and you have assigned the necessary security roles. Depending on the assigned security roles, there are different forms available. Additionally, there is a new function of CRM – the so-called role-based forms. Depending on the security roles of your user, you may have several different forms. The form with the ‘read-only’ fields is the form for Time Entry users. You can change the form by selecting another form in top left hand sidebar.
Silverlight Components can be used in Outlook but can't be used in a browser.
This behavior is based on the authentication of Microsoft CRM. The following example describes the behavior: In Outlook, the name of the CRM server used to open CRM (e.g. http://crm). In the Internet Explorer, Microsoft CRM was opened via an external URL (e.g. http://crm.company.com). For using Microsoft CRM via the internet (e.g. http://crm.company.com), Microsoft allows only the claim-based authentication via AD FS 2.0. The above described problem occurs when you try to access Microsoft CRM via the internet address and you are using a different authentication type other than AD FS 2.0. xRM1 is seamless integrated into Microsoft CRM, so it uses the same Microsoft CRM standard function for authentication that is defined in the SDK, to get the URL. Please use only the Internet Explorer server name (e.g. http://crm) to start CRM, if you don’t use AD
When you open a Silverlight function of xRM1, the message "Retrieving entity/type‚ itaraxrm_product_settings" failed. Executing entity/type ‚"Lf" failed.“ appears
This error appears if Microsoft CRM is not started with the right URL for the Microsoft CRM Webservice. If the correct URL is used for accessing the CRM system, the Silverlight components are displayed in the right way as well.
To figure out if you have the right URL for your Microsoft CRM system, go to Settings -> Customizations -> Developer Resources and click on the link for the Organization Service.
If the page opens up properly, then you should use this URL (without "XRMServices/2011/Organization.svc") for future CRM system access. This link is definitely the proper link for your CRM system.
Error: This feature is not included in your license model?
After opening the Solution I get the error: This feature is not included in your license model?
The message indicates that some of your chosen functions are not included in your user license.
Please check which license your user is assigned to (Settings – License Assignments).
Customizing FAQ´s
Is it possible to add some fields in the xRM1 entities and change the arrangement of the existing form fields?
Yes, you can customize all xRM1 entities, like all other Microsoft Dynamics CRM entities.
For more details on customizing, visit or eLearning Portal.
Changing rights for security roles?
There are some security roles which come with xRM1. Can I change the rights for these security roles (e.g. for granting more/less rights to the Project Manager role)?
Yes, you can change the rights for the security roles delivered with the solution. What you must not change are the security role names as the Silverlight components check for the role names, for granting access to these functions. There are some special requirement regarding the securite role "Time Recording". If you want to change this role please contact customer support in advance.
